Frances Van't Hul
HULL, Iowa -- Frances Van't Hul, 93, of Hull passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Dr. Verlyn Boone officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be after 3:30 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. Condolences may be expressed online at www.oolman.com .
Frances was born Jan. 28, 1918, at Rock Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Mary (De Roos) Vande Vegte. She was raised in the Rock Valley area, where she attended rural schools.
On March 11, 1937, she married Edward G. Van't Hul in Rock Valley. They spent most of their married life farming. In 1963, they moved into Hull. Ed passed away March 9, 2002, in Sioux Falls, S.D., after almost 65 years of marriage.
In November 2005, Frances became a resident of Pleasant Acres.
She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she participated in Reformed Church Womens' Ministries. She also belonged to The Gideons.
Frances and Ed enjoyed fishing and traveling. Frances also liked caring for her flowers and crocheting, making many beautiful projects through the years.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Robert and Corrine Van't Hul and Marvin and Myrna Van't Hul, all of Hull; a daughter and her husband, Muriel and Peter Den Hartog of Orange City, Iowa; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Leon and Carla Kleinwolterink, Connie Nissen, Merrill and Marlys Nettinga, Marchelle and Mike Kots, Sandra and Alan Woudstra, Rodney and Lisa Den Hartog, and Lisa and Loren Haiar; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Alyda Vande Vegte of Sioux Center, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Norman Van't Hul; and three brothers and two sisters, Henrietta Timmermans, Oscar Vande Vegte, Henry Vande Vegte, Richard Vande Vegte and Catherine Bomgaars.
