School lockers are a functional part of the school experience. This is where kids store their books, school supplies, coats and other personal items. Good use of school locker organizers can help make this space as useful and as practical as possible. Organizing the space well can also make more room for fun stuff for kids to keep in their lockers.
There are a few things to consider before shopping for a school locker organizer. Find out what items are allowed in school lockers before you buy an organizer to fit items that aren't even allowed.
Consider whether you will have the same locker next year or whether you will likely be moving to a new locker next year that is a different size or shape. Sometimes as kids get older they move into different parts of the school and in turn to a different locker. You may want to buy adjustable or generic organizers that are more flexible.
Once you've decided what your kids will be keeping in their school locker and you know what size it is you can start shopping for a locker organizer that will help them use this space better.
Consider things like locker shelves where they can separate things like books, notebooks and school supplies. Locker baskets can also be a good way to separate items, especially smaller items like pens and highlighters. Magnetic storage baskets are great for these types of small items. A magnetic memo pad or dry erase board can also be a great addition to a locker door.
If your kids will be hanging items like a coat or sweater in the locker make sure there is a hook and a section of the locker that is large enough for hanging items amidst the other organizers.
