Steve Martin Teaches Banjo Lessons Online | Guitar Center

It’s not everyday that you have the opportunity to get banjo lessons from Renaissance man and award winning banjo player Steve Martin but one website has changed all that.

Napa, California (PRWEB) June 23, 2011

It’s not everyday that you have the opportunity to get banjo lessons from Renaissance man and award winning banjo player Steve Martin but one website has changed all that. The Tony Trischka School of Banjo has a series of online lessons from guest Steve Martin where he demonstrates and breaks down how to play ‘Hide Behind A Rock’, a track from his new album ‘Rare Bird Alert’. Students can even watch the videos in slow motion along with hundreds of other beginner, intermediate and advanced banjo lessons available on the site.

Bringing bluegrass music to new audiences, Steve Martin is a passionate ambassador for the genre and the Tony Trischka School of Banjo has become the number one destination for people wanting to learn the instrument online. The School of Banjo is part of the ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass, which also includes schools for mandolin, fiddle, guitar and bass. The innovative online music academy gives students the opportunity to send their teacher a recorded video of themselves practicing and receive personal feedback and individualized instruction in the form of a Video Response. These videos are then paired and posted in the online Academy’s Video Exchange™ library, available to all enrolled students.

Tony Trischka is perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world. For more than 35 years, his stylings have inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians. He is not only considered among the very best pickers, he is also one of the instrument’s top teachers, and in 2009 created the Tony Trischka School of Banjo online. Tony Trischka produced ‘Rare Bird Alert’, the new album by Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, which includes guest performances by Sir Paul McCartney and the Dixie Chicks.

You can get a sneak peak of the Steve Martin lessons and sign up at http://www.tonytrischkaschoolofbanjo.
