Governor Brian Sandoval released a statement Thursday announcing Larry Mosley's resignation as the director of the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

"I thank Larry for his service to Nevadans during arguably the most difficult period in Nevada's history," Sandoval said. "I appreciate his commitment to workforce development, equal rights and getting Nevadans working again."

Mosley was appointed director for DETR back in July 2007. Dennis Perea will serve as the department's interim director until a permanent one is named.

Friday might be a little more interesting, but likely not by much. Don't be surprised, though, if an isolated storm develops between Amarillo, Texas and Elk City, Oklahoma. They may be fairly large storms, as they are apt to be in Oklahoma, but they won't be very widespread, and will fade quickly after sunset, by which point we will be in Gentry, OK, the destination for our second day.

DAY THREE Things are going to get a little bit dicey on Saturday. There is going to be a good chance for storms overnight in Gentry, and a few showers and storms are going to crop up through our entire route. The models are suggesting a swath of dry air for us to drive through, but I'm not totally buying it. I am guessing that we will see at least a shower, if not a few thunderstorms as we make our way through Oklahoma. Arkansas looks a little drier, but we will probably see some haze around Fort Smith. The front won't advance much through the day, and the best bet for clearing will be as we reach Memphis and it's western suburb of Arlington, our destination for the evening.

DAY FOUR It will certainly be rainier along I-40 than any other day of our trip. Rain will be a common thread throughout Tennessee, with an isolated thunderstorm here and there, though the storms should be done as we turn north at Knoxville. It doesn't look like it will be a torrential onslaught of rain, but a few cells could bring about some heavy downpours. There is still going to be a threat for drizzle even as we arrive in Rural Retreat, Virginia, which is in the far western part of the state.

DAY FIVE Just a couple of hours left in the car, and it will be dry. The next ridge will be pushing into Virginia, which could lead to a bit of an inversion and early morning fog, but that should burn off by 10, when it's time to leave for Harrisonburg. Expect pleasant temperatures by the end of the drive, but it probably still won't be as fun as Las Vegas.
