'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' review: Shannon Tweed moves out
“Gene Simmons Family Jewels” Served viewers another batch of awkward episodes, as we watched Gene and Shannon Tweed’s relationship continue to crash faster than the economy. It doesn’t help that A&E, in between all the heartache, therapy sessions and the trail of tears, intersperses home video footage and vintage photos of Gene, Shannon, Nick and Sophie during much younger, happier times. Tuesday’s episodes involved Gene opening the show singing the praises of mothers worldwide. “Mom is home,” said the rocker during his confessional.
But last night, mom wasn’t home. Mom left home in fact, as Shannon--still miffed about the TMZ photo--bolted the mansion in favor of a small hotel room.
That caused Gene to continue his therapy session with Dr. Ann Wexler , telling her that he “f****** up” and that he’d be willing to do “almost anything” to get Shannon back into the house.
The second episode picked up where the first left off, and it was interesting to see how Gene and Shannon’s strife affected their children. Parents who go through relationship problems inevitably see some of the fallout blow back on the kids--even if the kids are grown.
