Explore our daily e-mail and use it for bigger jobs too. Most scanning letter-size pages in black and white. HP software included with the scanner was useless. Amazingly, the driver was 100s megabytes and that does not work. Fortunately, we have found in the HP Web site, a small "commercial" for the 8250 driver. The driver took away the bells and whistles. "We use this driver for about 6 months. The problem was that our actual scan speed through the" commercial "driver was only 4 pages per minute. Finally, HP updated the driver for the company and now we are closer to 13 pages per minute, which is acceptable for us. The ADF does not interfere with the frequency that other scanners have been. We dab alcohol on the reel when it starts to act up. I have an HP 6110, Epson 1200U and 8250th All food and I returned the Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner Microtek and because it does not feed properly. Lam, I bought a refurbished Scanjet 8250 to $ 80 in August 2008, thinking that even if it did not work, I will be $ 80 instead of the original price of $ 800. However, I had an automatic document feed scanner HP before (most recently, the Scanjet 5550C w / ADF duplex), so I alreay knew all the HP scanner software strange, slow and clumsy. Out of the box (restored), the original driver included software (HP Imaging 2.2) does not work with my Windows XP Pro SP3 Pentium 4 2.4 4 GHz Thinkpad There were several errors and breakdowns, even after patching with the latest updates from the HP website. Luckily there was a whole new set of drivers / software from May 2007 (HP Solution Center), which has worked quite well in the end, even thought it was the scanner 8270 for some reason. Yes, HP's new software (like the old software), far above the 100 MB and is still slow and clunky, but it includes a picture / image manager w / rudimentary image processing functions. If you do not want to deal with HP software, HP has a much slimmer TWAIN driver, which includes most or all of the scanner functions, even if you are unable to scan the front panel buttons. You can use a third party, such PaperPort Document Manager with TWAIN driver. I decided to install and use both types of driver / software. Anyway, after two weeks of use, the ADF has not yet committed to me (from my experience with HP 5550c ADF scanner jams are quite rare and that the scanner has been working for five years running now) the front panel.
